On Tuesday, June 9, over 150 radio stations will recognize the funeral of George Floyd by playing together Sam Cooke’s anthem “A Change is Gonna Come.”
George Floyd will be laid to rest at a private ceremony in Houston that day. His death on May 25 has been the focus of international protests. Many communities are struggling with the issues raised by his death, including racial injustice and police misconduct.
Freeform Portland will continue to play black voices and anti-racist programming throughout the day to honor George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter Movement. This was my contribution.
